dorkbot:bristol presents "Show'n'Tell"
This coming Tuesday 17th june from 7pm till 10pm XtreamLab will be streaming a live video feed of this month's Dorkbot Bristol live from the Pervasive Media Studio in Anchor Square for an evening of nerding and general geekery in a dorkbot bristol show and tell special with special guests.
During the event there will be live video and audio in the XtreamBox on the left. Prior to the event we are running a test stream of video recorded live during XtreamLab's D.R.O.I.D event from February 2008. Use this to ensure you have the right software installed ready for the live stream.
I can't see any video??
XtreamLab is streaming straight into this web page using the free Xiph Ogg/Theora video platform and the iTheora player. The best way for you to see the video is with the excellent Cortado, for which you need to have Java installed. To test viewing with Cortado do the following:
- In the XtreamBox video window to the left click on the top right hand icon labelled Options.
- From the menu select Play with the Java plugin
- If you have Java, then a message will appear asking you whether you wish to trust the certificate used to sign the applet, click Trust (trust us ;)).
We have tested the stream using most browser combinations, but if you do have trouble watching it in your browser, then try using either VideoLAN Client or QuickTime Player. You will then need to copy and open the address http://live.xtreamlab.net:8000/dorkbotbristol.ogg.
